Russell's Top

The view from the inland side of Russell's Top with the Turkish memorial on Baby 700 at left and Quinn's Post Cemetery on the same ridge mid-picture. Courtney's and Steel's Post Cemetery is on the edge of the ridge at extreme right above Monash Valley. The intermediate spur is Pope's Hill. Scrolling right, Lone Pine lies among the trees. Just right of Lone Pine is the tip of Kabatepe point. The slight bump on the horizon in the far distance just to the right of the Lone Pine trees is Achi Baba at Cape Helles. Scrolling further, the spit runs down to the Sphinx, with part of Plugge's Plateau just visible in the background.

Panorama help
Once the movie downloads (about 1-2 mins on a 56k dial-up connection) you can move around inside the image with your mouse pointer, click and drag to explore. If the question mark symbol in the grey bar is highlighted you can click on it to see hotspot links. These are either in the form of roll-over text (an empty circle appears when rolling over) or links to other panoramas (a small globe appears when rolling over). The + and - are to zoom in and out. This panorama requires QuickTime 5 or later to view.
